Eligibility Criteria for obtaining learning license in Gujarat
To obtain a learner's license for a motor vehicle exceeding 50cc engine capacity, a person must be over 16 years of age and must obtain consent from his or her parent or guardian.
A person must be above 18 years of age to obtain a learning license for a light motor vehicle.
The person should be above 20 years of age to obtain a learning license for a commercial vehicle.
A person applying for learner's license should be familiar with the traffic rules and regulations.
Required Documents -
Age proof, birth certificate, passport, PAN card, LIC policy or civil surgeon or equivalent doctor can be submitted as proof of age.
Address- School Proofing Certificate, Passport, LIC Policy, Electronic Voter Card, Light Bill, Telephone Bill, House Tax Receipt with Address, Central/State/Local Government Pay-slip or Affidavit of the applicant. Address can be produced as proof.
Examination Process - Computer based knowledge test is necessary for obtaining a learning license.
Test like traffic rules and regulations and traffic signs.
15 questions are randomly asked in the exam, out of which 11 questions have to be answered to pass the exam.
48 seconds are given to answer each question.
A person who fails in the test can appear in the test again after a gap of 24 hours.
A person having a learning license or a driving license and who intends to apply for a driving license of an additional category to the existing driving license is exempted from the knowledge test on computer.
Driving test is mandatory for obtaining permanent driving license
One can appear for the driving test after a gap of 30 days after obtaining the learning license.
The driving test is conducted on the same type of vehicle for which the driving license has been applied for.
Learning license is valid only for a period of 6 months, therefore, the applicant must appear for the driving test within the validity period.

Click on continue button
If the candidate is applying for a new learner's license then first select the option "I do not have any license" and then click on the submit button.
A new blank application form screen will open. Please fill in all required information, blocks marked with * are mandatory.
The method of filling the information in the form given above has been explained. After filling the form click on submit button.
After successful submission an application number will be generated and an SMS will be sent to the mobile number entered. Candidates can take a print of the acknowledgment generated. Click on the Next button to upload the documents, photo and signature.
Select the Upload Documents option and click on the Next button
Select the appropriate documents and evidence for relevant documents. Select document option and upload document and click on confirm button for document upload confirmation and click on next button. Repeat the document upload process to upload all the required documents. After successfully uploading all the required documents click on Next button for Photo & Signature.
Click on the Browse button to select the photograph of the candidate and the signature of the candidate. *** PLEASE READ THE PHOTO WRAPP AND SIGNATURE FILE SPECIFICATIONS BEFORE UPLOADING THE PHOTOGRAPH AND SIGNATURE. Click on Upload and View Files Save after successful upload of photograph and signature Click on Photo & Signature Image Files. On successful upload the message "Submit Successfully" will be displayed. Then click on the Next button to make the fee payment.
Select the fee payment option and click next for fee payment
No payment instructions will be displayed online for LL/DL applications, then click on "Click here to proceed with e-payment".
Select Bank/Gateway/Treasury in the payment options and enter the text as shown above. * Every time a new random text will be generated. Click on the Pay Now button
Terms and conditions for online payment will be displayed and click on proceed for payment

Select the mode of payment and click on the submit button. Candidates can select any of the modes listed and make the payment.
